The Bavarian Trakehner Breeding District invited breeders and spectators to its VIII. Regional Mare Show and to the first Alpen Countries Championships taking place in September in the marvelously located Murtal Stud of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz. It was a really great show in this dream of a stud. Hibiskus became the big star of this breeding and sports weekend.

Kalimero

It was not only that he blew out the rest of the field in his St. Georges competition – his offspring followed their sire’s footsteps in youngster contests: Kalimero, four-years-old son of Kalinowska by Münchhausen bred and owned by Ines Eisold, catched the silver ribbon of his riding horse test and finished third in the young horse dressage test.

Paradise

Premium mare Paradise, four years old as well and riding horse championess in office till this weekend, bred out of Passion V by In Flagranti, twice received a blue ribbon for her performances in the same contests as Kalimero.

Ticino

Ticino, the advanced horse of the dressage lot we brought along to Murtal, like his sire achieved a clear victory in the L-level dressage horse contest. In addition, the six-years-old son of Tessina by Monteverdi, bred by Dr. Antje Meuser, picked the silver ribbon of the LM-level dressage contest.

Hagebutte

During the Regional Mare Show Hibiskus’ daughters gave excellent testimony of their sire’s breeding qualities: Hagebutte, the first self-bred mare of the host stud, undisputedly won her class of two-years-old mares, which was extraordinary as to number and quality of participants. This daughter of Himperia by Imperio convinced the judges as a model and with her gaits.

Paradise

Saddle proven premium mare Paradise, out of Passion V by In Flagranti, took part in this show’s most outstanding class. In this class of four-years-old mares you could see the “Best Mare” of Marbach’s grading, Bavaria’s grading winner and the reserve winner of the grading show in Lower Saxony-Northwest 2015. A superior age group without any doubt – all of the top placed mares are similarly successful under saddle and in hand. It really was a pleasure to watch this age class! So we are the more proud that Paradise found her adequate place among the top group of this class – the Id award of such an age class stands out against quite a number of victories in other places …

Paradise, however, knew how to impress in another class. Like her older sister P.S. I Love You this grey mare is quite talented with the bars – and she proved that among numerous competitors of the Jumpers Class. Paradise won the Ib award ahead of quite a number of mares with special jumping and eventing pedigrees. By the way: Id in this class was given to Hibiskus’ granddaughter Saphira (by All Inclusive out of Sumeika, owner: Astrid Auernig).

Family of Per Du - decorated with the Ic award

One of the highlights of every Regional Mare Show is the Family Class – we saw astounding six families in Murtal. And both, the Ia as well as the Ic family owe part of their success to Hibiskus’ daughters Hagebutte and Paradise.

Hibiskus under the saddle of Nicole Raili

No wonder many spectators had a close look at Hibiskus, when he entered the parade ground as final highlight of the afternoon show program and danced dressage lessons under his rider Nicole Raili. Laymen could not get enough of this beautiful, charismatic black stallion; experts paid tribute to his outstanding performance as dressage horse and sire.
